may | a very brief summary

English: The end of an another semester is pushing on and the whole month of May has kinda been a huge blur, which is why I haven’t really had the time or urge to write anything here. Honestly, I can’t even remember anything from the beginning of the month besides the fact that I spent it under the dark cloud of my master’s thesis proposal. Basically I made it through that only due to the fact that I had this vision of the vacation in my head and that vacation came in the form of a quick weekend trip to Lithuania together with Reili and Sära. Since they were last there in November when it was still dark and cold, it was about time to go and enjoy some good weather as well. And the weather was good – it was actually the same weekend when Estonia also had the chance to enjoy some sun. The whole weekend was great, as usual – Gytis was the one of from the Lithuanians who spent the most time with us and it was awesome. On the second day, against all odds, we made it to Kaunas as well, where we visited the Hanseatic Days and saw Matas working hard. The whole weekend was one big enjoyment of good weather: we walked around Kaunas, visited the Vingis Park and the Three Cross Hill again and had some nice outdoor meals throughout the weekend. On the last day, talking with the girls and discussing the weekend, I felt like I hadn’t had such a great laugh in a while. Quality time. Atleast I don’t have to wait that long before I can go back. We also had a third video shoot with Error, which was also fun. Besides that I somehow managed to get an eye inflammation, which is the reason why for some days I looked like legit Terminator… that was also interesting.

And my first year of master’s studies is already over – surreal. Then again, since I still have the plan to graduate next spring, I have to work hard and harder. I don’t sense time at all anymore, which is why I don’t really acknowledge that summer is here already and due to some things, I am spending the summer, or well the time in Estonia, in Haapsalu. Also, it is once again my birthday soon and of that I’ll definitely do a longer post. 🙂

Leedu | an amazing weekend

Vaade 3 risti mäelt on lihtsalt imeline.

English: Like I mentioned a couple of posts before, we had a plan together with other people from our project to do some trips here and there. Well, this plan came together quite quickly and so there we were, planning a trip to Vilnius. Got the confirmation from the Lithuanians and whoop! When me and Hedi arrived from Tartu to Tallinn on the morning of the 4th and saw the other girls, it really felt like half of our family was reunited again. So there we were, on our 9-hour bus trip to Vilnius, which to us was not that big of a deal, because we were already used to these long bus trips (khmm… the Romanian magic bus). Before arriving, I had this weird, hollow feeling in my stomach, but it went away, because there were 7 Lithuanians waiting for us and some of them had prepared food and there was LOTS of alcohol and oh boi, it was amazing. Family reunion.

The next morning, most of us were kind of dead and the morning dragged on and on. We finally got a move on and went to the Trakai city, where we could see this cool castle and just walk around, feed the ducks etc. This day also included traditional Lithuanian dishes as well (read: potatoes and sour cream soup haha). In the evening, we walked around the Vilnius Old Town, saw some beautiful sights and amazing districts and also went to some bars. The view from the 3 Crosses Mountain is breathtaking. We got back at like 5 am and only got a few hours of sleep.

Sunday was quiet and it was more than enough. The rest was needed and we got to just… be. Monday morning was again that sucky moment when I had to get on the bus to ride back to Estonia.. To the usual routine. Weird. Honestly, there is so much to say about this weekend, but I am struggling to find right words and phrases. Well,  let it be then.
